before i've realized it, there are 11 days until christmas.

however, it didn't feel like christmas until it was snowing large flakes earlier tonight as i was walking home from work.

even though i was humming christmas carols and walking with a holiday skip... the feeling of christmas was still incomplete because it still feels like in order to have a true christmas:

you must have the pictures of large cities under tons of holly, every corner laden with red and green decorations, and the large houses that have enough lights to light small towns in africa.

being overseas, the frenzy of the holiday season just seems nonexistant and christmas doesn't feel like anything special.

hopefully, there will be a memorable holiday cheer this holiday season.

wishing everyone the very best christmas. ^^

Overseas at last

More than three months have passed since graduation and the promise I made to myself has become a reality. I have finally stepped over into East Asia. The endless travelling that commenced even before graduation has still not come to an end.

Graduation has long come and gone, but receiving welcome back emails from campus groups are still a sentimental and bittersweet thing. Unless if I return back to Vandy for grad studies, it`ll be a while before I visit Nashville again.

It`s been a while since I last blogged, and now that I have a bit of time before I head to my next hotel, I`ll recount a bit of it. My Morgan`s late Senior Spring Break and Senior Week came a little before Senior Week and continued after graduation. During which we made two separate trips down to the Florida region. First time was to Miami and the Bahamas....

and.....

the Everglades!

then graduation....

Of course, it`s not the walking down the stage and the receiving of the diploma that is important... rather it is the gathering of the families and friends around great food!!! lol.

Then, it`s off to Florida again, and visiting my godsister a few more times. lol. (and going down to Orlando) ^^

After making our nth drive back up from Gainesville, it`s back to Nashville...

we settle into our apartment at the Grove Whitworth.

After chilling for two months with the wonders of freedom provided by a car, not only did Morgan 709 discover new places in Nashville and enjoy the time spent there... it was time to move to the next stage.

But first, let me go to the city and have a little more fun.

I got to see, eat and spend an awesome time in the city with my big sib Jalin and her friends. (and ty of course)

from the MET, to MoMa, to Columbia U, to Harlem, to Times Square, to Brighton Beach and all over... it was amazing.

THEN.....

It was the flight from Nashville to Seoul.

Intensive training for a week and then the waiting for the visa code.

But before the visa code came out, I headed out for the 21st ACT conference in Urabandai (see first pic). It was amazing! The food and scenery was breathtaking and the conference was very interesting. Individuals from all over the Asian region came together to talk about security, ICT, and financial issues.

but of course... the most important thing was the daily onsen underneath the starry night.

Now, I`m on the 7th floor of the Prince Hotel in the Yahoo! Cafe in Tokyo.

Going over to the Ueno area in the afternoon while I wait for the completion of my visa. As to what else I`ll go see.... we`ll see. ^^

signing off for now. perhaps i`ll post again.

So, I'm sitting in my last class I'll ever have in my undergraduate career and I decide that the best way to pay attention to the professor is by posting on xanga. College life is quickly coming to an end - the things that have become a familiar routine during these last four years are slowly becoming a thing of the past. Life ahead is filled with new adventures and uncertainties but before I hit the ground running I've decided that I'm gonna begin wrapping up this chapter of my life with some very prominent click clacking of the keyboard in my last class and a few laughs as I sit back and smile at all the memories of the last four years.

Looking forward, I'm excited about all the new people I will meet and the places I will visit. Life is going to take so many more turns and bumps but the greatest thing about all of this is the fact that I know that I will only build from what I already have. As to immediate future plans ... going on a cruise for senior week, Orlando after grad, Nashville for some free lance work for a month or so ... then if all plans go well - I will be heading to East Asia! So - if you're gonna be overseas and in the region - tag me so we can arrange meet ups and what not. ^^

Time is passing by without heed to anything around it... life is hectic as usual - but if you get a chance to take a breath, find a theatre that is showing The Host and go watch it.
